Terrain Modelling and Learning Processes

This is my first ever attempt at Unity, and trying to learn from scratch to build everything from scratch is time consuming...

Everything created by me, maps from www.textures.com
and only thing i downloaded was the silver birches..

Whats has been learnt so far:
Terrain [painting, billboarding grasses, and meshing trees]
Models [Exporting from 3ds max to Unity, what materials work, how the Y-up UVW engine is handled]
Lights [ how to script light flicker and particles like [4x2] fire textures
Controllers [Basic look at and walk constraints]
